After 3.5 years, it's time.
I'm moving soon, and asked to become a remote employee. Despite our department having many, they firmly said no, citing not particularly valid or believable reasons. As I make them a boatload of money, this is surprising.
They say they're happy to write recommendations and be references for me, though I expect to go freelance again, so those things aren't essential to me.
There isn't much work on my plate at the moment, and I have ~5 days of holiday / wellness time to burn through. I'm considering giving more than 2 weeks notice.
— How much notice would you give to a company who kind of screwed you, but whose bridge you may not want burnt?
— How much time off would you take during that time?

request the 5 day off, once approved give two weeks notice so the week you get back from holiday you only have to work for 1 week.
- Is this likely to sour any future recommendation from them?e-wo
- Don't you have a contract that states how much notice you have to give (and vice versa)? Can be 3 months, can be 1 month.shapesalad

Looks like the company pays out all accrued time except for sick leave. Is it a dick move to put in some sick time during my 2-3 weeks notice?
