Hey Ladies was founded at the end of 2001 by Jenine McKay, Izzie Klingels, Julie Bland and Jemma Kennedy who were all equally bored with the efforts of the male-dominated media cognoscenti to amuse a cynical urban public. So they created their own blend of words, wit and pictorial elegance, and the Hey Ladies periodical was born, supported by their regular club nights. Hey Ladies was conceived as a new concept in female entertainment, not a bra-burning manifesto - created by women who wanted to provide an irreverent print forum for the most original and challenging contemporary female talent around.
