Apologies if I go round the houses here but...
I have a document that I have designed in portrait.
The client now wants a landscape version too...
I know how to do that part...
My question is if I make a text amend to the landscape version, is it possible that I can make the text update automatically in the portrait version?
Thanks

You can link the text in a word or .txt file and place it in the textbox like an image. But then you lose custom formatting, its just plain text then.
Which version of InDesign are you using?

ah, you can do that with cross reference maybe: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign…
- This isn't it :( Thank you for sharing though - I learnt something today!nylon

There's an option in the "Pages" panel menu.... Create alternate layout. Now your amends on either layout should translate to both layouts.
- This means 2 layouts, portrait and landscape, in one InDesign doc.robthelad

- wow, you learn something every daymonospaced
- but the copy isn't "linked" so you have to make changes to both layoutsGnash

with InCopy (included in cc) you can 'link' multiple text docs to you layouts
