Photoshop Q: shape layer fill/stroke

  I used to be able to create a shape layer whose fill would default to the programs's foreground color. Now, it only will have the fill showing in the top left of the application interface. I would rather not be that color's bitch.

  Is there a setting or preference I can change to make new shape layers default to the foreground color?

  If you select the preferred thing in the top left corner, PS should remember your setting:

  I think that's for setting what layer style you want to use. Those are probably layer styles you recently applied. I only had one with a different name.
