anyone run a dropshipping business? what does your supplier charge for delivery. how do you handle returns... any tips on not being ripped off by customers or suppliers?

I created multiple shops for dropshippers. Most of them failed, here are the main reasons why:

    - When you're not exclusive to that product, so you can be sure that someone else has a better price on amazon or somewhere else
    - Your supplier does not handle returns in most cases, so if someone orders $10k goods and sends them back, you have the damage.

What you need is a really good shop with working APIs to Amazon, Ebay and price comparison portals. And, most important, a product only you have. Maybe check for local products that have no brand shop, maybe they let you run one in kind of a franchise-model.

ive already asked about own branding on items and what volumes would make that practical. and i agree at the start its a race to the bottom in terms of pricing

    • An own brand is the right thing to start with!mekk
