So what's the skinny on these guys? Have you received their emails? I just got invited to a San Diego event but of course they don't tell you that you have to pay to play.

    Something about selling tickets?

Also looked at past event photos and it looks all dark and gothy, I don't know why they would want my beach/lifestyle photos displayed in that atmosphere.

I got the email too, man. Called them up and got some details. It sounded very shady to me. I don't think their qualifications for showcasing even exist. They just spam people on b3hance, etc to fill the space they rent. They make their money no matter what. Might be worth it if you have a ton of merch to get rid of. But the impression I get is the venue isn't even very artist friendly. Low lights and loud music don't go well with art, IMO.

IS THERE A FEE TO PARTICIPATE? Yes; well, kind of.

"There is a showcase fee to participate in RAW. Instead of artists paying out-of-pocket upfront, they are encouraged to sell tickets to the event to make up for the participation costs. Tickets are $15-$20 pre-sale (depending on the market) and £12 in the U.K.

Participating RAW artists commit to selling 20 tickets to the event they are showcasing in."
