Hey man, I think the fellas here gave some really good advice and ultimately its gonna come down to who you are as an individual. What drives you, your current life needs and situation, what you're passionate about and what your life expectations are at the moment (because those change)
Sometimes its very difficult to know yourself that well, specially at 18. So if you are uncertain and are very conflicted just remember to always be working towards something while you're figuring it out. Don't sit still waiting for things to click. Do anything, but do something.
Also, whatever profession you're interested in, seek out a professional currently working in that field around your area and ask if you can meet with him, ask him some question about the work he does, his pay, his struggles with the profession, his achievements in the profession and maybe shadow him at work for a day or two. Maybe one of the guys here can help with that.
Reality is often different from our expectations, get out there and get a feel for it before you make a decision.
Best of luck to you.

So, I did this btw.
I'm a month a half into a two-year program that runs through both summers. So far I'm immensely satisfied by what I'm learning, so for better or worse I'm definitely in the right place. Thanks to everyone for your solid advice last year.

The one and only downside so far: Ontario Colleges just went on strike today...LOL.

I'm currently sitting in my empty classroom looking at some of the books just to remind myself that I'm still in school.
