Do you or your workplace block Google Analytics? Is it still the primary statistic tracker?

Why / how would you block it? This is confusing.

- GA only tracks if you add the code. you must be talking about something else.dbloc

Statcounter is an alternative, though a little ugly. But the "blocking" part confuses me too.

Has anyone used Google Analytics Premium? Seems like the free version gives you plenty of info.

You could block it using Ghostery if you really cared about such things.

Yes, you can add a filter to block by IP address or ISP or any number of different things... that way you don't skew your clients data if your company is all over their website all day, every day.

"Do you or your workplace block Google Analytics?"
Bainbridge - what does this question mean? Do you mean block your own IP address from counting towards traffic on your own site?

Yes and yes, and I'm mad about it (a bit).
I have an adblocker (Ublock Origin) installed, it also blocks analytics and other tracking services. Even If I hadn't installed it, all major browsers have the "Do Not Track" option on by default, which makes tracking possible but erases out important data, like referrers.
So Yes, I use it, BUT. When I look in my analytics sheets, they have become very useless without that information. It's full of referral spam, almost every trackable user erases out information like referrers or keywords from his search.
Tracking with analytics has become a useless nightmare imo. It is only useful with specified campaign urls and target actions for conversion tracking. Classic analytics and reading, optimizing your flow is not possible anymore because of that massive corrupted information.
On some days I have more orders on some shops than users according to GA. Man.
