Colors & Swatches in Illustrator

    Would anyone mind telling me the easiest way to work with color swatches in Illustrator, particularly when using CC libraries?

    I've not used Illustrator enough to be as proficient as I am with Photoshop. But I have a color palette saved to CC that shows up in a PS or Illy library in my tool panels. I get really frustrated when I see that library in Illustrator, and can't select colors in it, or drag and drop those colors into swatches, or anything of the sort. There's something I'm missing, but I don't know what.
