Any suggestions?

Assuming that you don't want to deal with a transmitter, you want Bluetooth headphones. They all suck compared to wired cans as far as sound quality goes, but that's the price you pay for not having wires.
Personally I have a set of Harman Kardon BT which don't sound awful, especially if your iMac supports the newer aptX Bluetooth audio codec (newer ones do). The BT are also comfortable enough to wear all day long. Unfortunately HK no longer makes the BTs.
If I were shopping for Bluetooth headphones today, I'd look at the Harman Kardon Soho, Jabra Revo, and Jabra Move.

I bought a Sony stereo with bluetooth for playing music from my computer in my office. Every couple of minutes, the music would cut out or click/pop. Just for a split-second.
I returned it, thinking it was defective, but the guy at the store said "Yeah, that's the nature of bluetooth. It cuts out a bit."
Is this true? It seems crazy to me that anyone would put up with that for music.
- I bought a cheap bluetooth speaker for about €20, don't think I've ever heard it cut out like that.ian
- never had that with any BT audio devicefourth
- All the time.pango
- It's true, BT simply fucks up randomly, even if it's going a couple of feet or even inches sometimes. I think there's a new "version" that's better.monospaced
- You need a better BT device. The HK headphones I mentioned a few posts back does not have this issue. The "new version" BT codec is aptX.chow
- Interesting. This was a very recent model stereo, and a Sony, which I thought would be good enough, but maybe I should try something higher-end.nb

iMac? I assume you will want to also watch video/movies and not just listen to music using these headphones?
Then you should know that all Bluetooth speakers have a varying degree of lag. Video and audio won't be in sync.
- I have Sonys BT with my Mac Pro, zero lag. Use them for iPhone to talk, iPad for media. Zero Lag.ArmandoEstrada
- I find it hard to believe that there is such a thing as Zero lag on bt audio.
I think it's more viable that you don't notice it, but it's there.Miguex
