CNAME question

    Having to play with some CNAMES and having some issues. Simple put:

    If I cname TEST to JAMES and then go to TEST should I see TEST in the address bar, but see the content of JAMES?

    Or is it more of a forward? I understand why I should use them but wonder how to achieve the terrible example above. Any ideas?
