The company I work for has a magazine. I'm responsible for it. They want and iPad version, so I put forward Apple Newsstand as the distribution method.
Now I need to learn how to do it – anyone got experience?
Pretty vague question isn't it...
Yep, used to do a lot of magazine iPad work.
Received all assets from the printed version and re-layout in InDesign adding all interaction (object states, links etc) there. Pretty simple stuff if you know InDesign.
I used to hand the documents over to someone else to do the folio builder (I think that's what it was called).
Thanks. Yeah, I've noticed some are very basic – just PDFs with hyperlinks etc.
I'm pretty good with InDesign and there are lots of tutorials around Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite etc.
How easy is it to 'just upload a PDF' version to Newsstand?
I'm going to learn how to make a more interactive publication but for a first issue a straight up PDF could be the way to go...
