I recently discovered someone was using my work and claiming as their own, so i contacted them and got no reply.
With the anger building up i went to G+ and twitter (the only 2 social platforms they use) and called them out.
Now, i received an email with this business owner threatening they will do some things that will "ruin you and your business"
What should i do?

This will only make the situation worse i think.
I'm more concerned about what it is he is implying he will do to my name and company.

Make it public. What the hell could he do to your company if he's ripping you off?

If they stole your work, then you really have nothing to worry about. If they follow through with any threats, you now have it in writing.
- I assume any lawyer would back you up.monospaced
- Mono is right. You already have a threat. It will stand in court.yurimon

Who are these guys? post them and we will find out who they are..

This is why in the future YOU do not contact them, and instead send a cease and desist letter. You can bluff your way with a boiler plate one or have a lawyer draft and send one. It's not too much to have done.

I'd find out more info before going aggressive. There are plenty of punks out there that will spend insane hours doing crazy shit. Shit that would hurt a legitimate business.
Are they local? If they are in Russia, ain't nothing you can do.
Are you confident that it's a real company (and not some punk pretending to be)?The lengths some idiots go never ceases to astound me. This includes some punks as well as powerful people. Neither of which is ever worth engaging unless you have a very, very clear course of action and understand the risks. People can be crazy.
- true. lets find out who it is...yurimon
- Good point. Makes me want to see the rip even more though.monospaced

Actually formed you got it spot on!
There is a lot of psychos out there and theres nothing to stop him doing god knows what and slandering my brand name.
I dont know if they are a legit company, but they are in the states as it says on their site. There is other projects on there as well i believe aren't theirs either but not sure who by

But why should you let someone who stole your work threaten you? If they try to publicly slander you, that is just putting in the spotlight the fact that they stole peoples' work. I say post the site and don't be afraid of them, you hold all the cards since you have the truth on your side.

What did they say in their email to you? Did they acknowledge the rip?
- freedom0
By using your work are they making you look bad or is it just on some site somewhere?
- i_monk0
Call their bluff. You can prove you did the work, they can't.
