I am about to design a publication that comes in form of a newspaper. For some logistic reasons it has to be printed in the US (San Francisco).
What are the most common formats used in the US?
We did a first edition of that newspaper in Germany in "Rheinisches Format" but found that a bit too big... so we want to go for something more tabloid-ish now.

and another thing: we used an online printer for the first edition, which was a pretty smooth process (just uploaded the file, got it delivered on time, no further communication needed). If you know of such a service in the SF area let me know. Thanks!

you want to make it big enough, so that the person holding it needs about 32-33 acres personal space, just so they can open and read the page 2 and 3 spreads. got it?
I mean, just big enough so that person reading said newspaper looks about the size of a higgs boson
