Maybe I'm in need of some catharsis but I've reached a point where I can no longer stand all the bullshit I hear everyday about social media, design, apps, fucking social media, fucking programming etc.
Revolutionary? Distruptive? Marketing disruptive marketing tools to marketers for revolutionary advertising UX? Optimizing disruptive thumbnails for TED talks about solar highways?
Post everything you hate about our industry here.

welcome to the salt mines kid, it's been this way since the mid nineties and it's probably because it's been an ongoing goldrush since that we all have a cushy job, we are the guys that do deliver and talk straight about time and money, right? (I did have a day like that too today)

Agreed...I'm on the verge of selling up and moving my family to a quiet country town in the middle of nowhere. Modern city life is shitting me. Even stupid things like competition between the mothers of my kids friends...who has the bigger car, the flashier clothes, the nicest beach house. Makes me ill.

This thread fails by not being called Meltdown of the Day.

Also totally agree. The sheer volume of bullshit flowing out of the valley is astonishing.

If you don't speak up about your opinions publicly, you allow bullshit to run unchecked.

having come back from meeting Facebook and YouTube in SF I have invented a new drinking game. Digital marketing bullshit bingo.

More a minor annoyance, but have you ever noticed how it's almost obligatory in the tech industry to add some hipster-sounding detail to "humanize" yourself. Like, "Joe is a senior developer and project manager...and also loves kangaroos." Fuck off.
- exactly. f*ck kangaroos.prophetone

ukit2..i've been noticing the same thing for the past while...all those little blurbs next to some one's image on the company roster...contact details, title, then...'loves singing Sinatra songs to his baby rhino'....
on one level it does actually make some one suddenly appear more accessible and real, on the other hand, i sort of find if vaguely annoying.
i'm going to add to mine 'is teaching his 8 and 10 year old to appreciate old Megadeth songs and the value of quoting Monty Pythons 'life of brian'....
both of which are true :)

accounts managers who think they are doing god's work.
Like if they were strapped to a chair and tortured they would still testify that what they do is important, creative, integral and meaningful. Even if it's an oil company rebrand.
