"Panic at Adobe HQ for sure!"
haha, like Adobe gives a fuck.
Cloud-based services have to expect this sort of thing to happen, so Adobe insisting upon going down that route is essentially a middle finger up to professionals who NEED 100% uptime.
There're plenty of reasons to distrust and dislike Adobe's recent direction, beyond not wanting to pay a subscription that essentially shackles everyone into an annual product cycle, over the potential for an 18-month to 2 year (or more) cycle that everyone's done up until now.

I'm not sure the idea was even awesome on paper, at least not for full-fledged desktop applications like Creative Suite. It's a way for companies to control access and charge higher prices. You never own anything, you just rent it.

I haven't been able to login to the Adobe Cloud to download Premier for at least a month!

They are running a one year contract that is the same exact price as month to month. Adobe needs some new marketing.

Personally, the subscription is a pretty great deal. I use 6+ programs regularly, to upgrade that was just ridiculous, so you keep using the ancient ones. That said, I have CS6 installed, been meaning to install CC.
I have always wondered why people think the "cloud" is so amazing. Nice to backup, but I'd never want my files or software somewhere else, just too easy for a connection to go down (had to work in a coffee shop for a week because internet was down for several blocks).
Adobe has no real competition, either.
Can't you have CC and CS6 installed on the same machine? Why do you need to be connected?

It's been working fine for me. I haven't noticed any outages at all.
