Anyone had experience of going from an .stl file to a cast metal object? I'm having trouble finding cost effective solution..! I need to cast about 20 bronze 55mm tall shapes (kind of a framework, so not solid). Any ideas for somewhere in the UK?
Not sure what your design limitations are, but are you able to consider CNC processes at all?
..otherwise, you're still in London?
You could try contacting the 4d modelshop - I think they have a list of go-to people for stuff like that.
i'm working on a jewellery project doing this. we use a rapid prototyper to create a resin piece that is then used to make the master from which the mould is then taken. I was told that for very complex pieces (3D filigrees etc) that a new RP needs to be made and destroyed for each casting.
dental labs do similar work to this, maybe you could talk to a local place.
