So I opened up ai CC this morning to find that shapes will not snap to point.
I am trying to tessellate hexagons and the machine will not have it. It is almost like they are on a baseline grid snap if that makes sense?
Weird. PLEASE HELP...

Check to make sure 'align to pixel grid' is unchecked in the transform panel.

You might have it snapped to grid.

view > grids & guides > (uncheck) snap to grid

- select your object first. I had this frustrating issue last weeklajj
- or make a new document and make sure that's not checked.doesnotexist

keep in mind the snap to pixel setting is also per object and therefor contagious between documents.
e.g if a rectangle was snapped in one doc and you copy and pasted it to another then duplicated and restyled it then it will still be snapping to pixels.
it's pretty retarded, should just be a global option in the view menu

Without seeing the quality of original you are trying to trace, I would suggest tweaking with trace settings. Increase Paths setting, decrease Corners.
Also turn on the preview and change the view setting to Tracing and Original so you can tweak for best results.
