Designer Torture

In Photoshop CS6, when selecting type with the selector it states one pt size (usually with a decimal/uneven number) but when selecting it with the type tool it states another number.
Sometimes two separate pieces of type with the same pt size are two different sizes visually.
Is this some kind of new torture? I won't stand for it.

i'm over on ntc discussing as well. the issue is re-creatable and def something to do with scaling and i need to switch from using photoshop to designing websites with rage instead. (pro tips)
- i can only assume there is some incredible new feature that i could use if i knew what it was and why it was added._salisae_

Heh, I deal with this shit constantly. Think it's because the 'textfield' is one size (100% scale, no transform), but if you scale the type (i.e. Transform tool), then it's telling you what the new size is- at being scaled, if that makes sense. When you select the text, then it's telling you what the size is if you took off the scale and reverted back to 100% scale.

Had this same issue a while back.

would like it if i could set the scaling back to 100% after the fact. like you can do with objects.

not that i should be scaling text but sometimes you get a nice lock up and you want to keep it without the math.
- From what I can tell, they got rid of this "feature" in CC.duckseason
