OK guys, I know this might be a really silly question, and it's Friday. But whatever QBN mayors/gobenors, I'm going to post it anyways,
for those hiring: what is it that you strictly look for in UI designers.
trying to step up my game.

I look for: 1. empathy - yes, I know, eye roll but it's true. I want to know that your design decisions are based upon the audience you're designing for rather than cool features you want to design (it's amazing how many people I interview don't seem to get this). 2. Design principles - you understand the importance of visual hierarchy in an interface. 3. UI patterns: You need to know when to use what.
There's more to it but those are some basics.

That UX designers really can't design anything worth shit.

That you aren't one of those people who is good at talking a lot of shit about design and then sucks at making anything.
