other portland food:
Olympic Provisions (cured meat)
Beast (trendy meat)
Ox (trendy meat)
Nedd Ludd (Pacific NW food, rustic)
Nong's Khao Man Gai (food cart or shop, crave-able thai chicken and rice)
Le Pigeon (fancier food, but very good)
Little Bird (Le Pigeon's cheaper restaurant, also good)Definitely the Saturday Farmers Market at PSU if it is back in session.

i don't think it's been mentioned yet as far as landmarks go, and while these aren't landmarks they are sort of portland staples - the top of mt tabor as well as the east side of the wilamette waterfront can provide really spectacular views of the city proper depending on the weather
clyde common has some decent appetizers and some of the better drinks in town. aviary is a fantastic dinner. laurelhurst market out on burnside and 31st is probably the best steak for your money (but, between a couple plates and a couple bottles of wine you can rack up a couple hundred bucks pretty quick).
really, though, portland is such a food-obsessed town that chances are a "name" like pok pok will be good but there's plenty of other places that are worth your time and money just as much.

Im game. Im in the city from March 10-14th..Thanks so much for all the info. Im a good drinker and I love decent food. I see Pok Pok has Bitburger on tap so Ill be there for sure with a plate of wings. Hot springs sound amazing. Id be interested in a meetup. I paint and would be interested in finding some galleries to show some work in the future, if possible. If not, just a drink with QBN would be lovely.

jruggs, do you know what part of town you are staying in?
we could suggest something near by for pints on wednesday 12th or thursday 13th after work.

most the gay bars downtown turned into high end boutiques like Union Way ( https://www.facebook.com/UnionWa… ), Polar ( http://www.polerstuff.com ) and Tanner Goods ( http://www.tannergoods.com ) but I'm sure we can find a bar GeorgesIV is comfortable at.

if you're renting a car, do one of the car share services out there, much cheaper.

on that art note...
I'm going to the Luc Tuyman's show & lecture at PNCA Thursday/Friday, as well as the Biennial opening at Disjecta on Saturday.

I'm in for a Thursday QBN drinks but the Magic Garden is gross, let's go someplace classier like Mary's or Union Jacks.

I'm working from home this week and on foot, so anywhere SE or Downtown would be cool for me. I'd be happy to suggest something SE like WhiteOwl, Dig A Pony, or someplace along Burnside, but don't really know of many great drinking holes in town.
