Have any of you done this?
Its seems like most companies do not want to bother with sponsoring you or dont have time to wait for you to get a visa.

I got a working visa in Bolivia once and didn't need any input from a sponsor. I just told them where I would be working. I think Latin America is pretty receptive when you're coming from the US.
- Not exactly true, you were lucky in Bolivia, but just being from the US will make it harder for you to go to Argentina or Brasil (at least)Miguex

depends on where you're going. didn't have to do anything work in stockholm.
- chrisRG0
it really depends on where to where.
if you're a UK, AUS, US citizen, visa for any of these should be easier
If you're EU citizen, anywhere in EU unionYou can still ask for a High Skilled (sponsored) visa almost in any country...

honestly, it's a walk in a park if you come from a 1st world country,
you can travel almost anywhere without having to prove anything once there you can stay at least 3 months to look around then find a way to stay more and they'll rarely deport you..try coming from south Sahara Africa and you'll see how much different they treat you
it's really not that hard, it just depend how much you want to do it

Well I might have a job offer... but it takes like 2 month to get approved... I dont think a fast pace ad agency can wait that long. That's my issue. I think they need me right now.
- tell them you want the job but paperwork takes time, offer work remotely meanwhile ;)chrisRG
- ha - I did just that. I'm waiting to see...Raybandana
- it's pretty common to go before the visa is approved and just work while on a tourist visa, they can work out ways to pay you.eficks

"honestly, it's a walk in a park if you come from a 1st world country"
a walk in the park... a long walk then. It took me 5years to finally be able to live and work in the US, coming from EU.- Same experience coming from Sweden to US. Definitely not a walk in the park, more like running on a highway if you ask me.martinadolfsson

Is there any canadian's on here who've made the move to the UK for a year and came back - and over 30?
- bainbridge0
Tourist visa is pretty easy, right?
Get a tourist visa for 3 or 6 months and try to get a job that will sponsor you to stay.
- bainbridge0
You'd have to be be really really good for a company to recruit you from overseas, or even within the EU.
- Raybandana0
Yea I can't find companies who will sponsor me to come. its not so easy... dam.

Do any countries have a work visa for self-employed or small business owners?
- Raybandana0
If you work for a global company - you can get a visa that lets you travel within the company.
- But you have to work for a big company. Not worth it IMOukit2
- Whats not worth it? Whats wrong with trying out it?Raybandana

Getting a UK visa is a little tricky, but possible, the key is being persistent. I would start the visa process in Canada, It will actually work out for you better if you start there. Consult an immigration lawyer if needed.
I ended up in Berlin, I love it here! But it took me a lot of hustling. You will get a lot of "No" before you hear a "Yes", but keep it up.
- Raybandana0
Hey thanks for the advice. But I can't start any visa process because I dont have the right documents to obtain a visa... I need that sponsorship. I'll try the immigration lawyer. Thanks!
- Raybandana0
I wondering If I just go there as a visitor and try to find work.. if i can even get work permit. It seems like only certain jobs are on the sponsor list.

Easiest way is to hook up with a lass...

If you find a company that is interested in hiring you, then you will have a lot easier time getting a visa to work there.
- I got 1 lined up. Just hoping the design lead likes my stuff.Raybandana
