Iam with Crashplan and they send me a code to give to a "friend" ... with the code you got one year of backup for $42 instead of 60$ i think.
If someone in here wants my code. Ask me.

I also use CrashPlan and have no complaints. Haven;t had to do a recovery, but check/test the data backed up now and then and it looks sound. Changed from Carbonite a year ago, which I did not like.

so for the initial upload...was your computer slow as shit for like a week?
- benfal990
a week? you mean for weeks! It took like 1 1/2 month. I have unlimited data plan so its ok.
- benfal990
i have 751Gb of data on their server. All crypted btw.
It take a long time to upload, but they offer the possibility to send a hard disk to speed things up.

@dbloc. It doesn't have to be. You can tell it what time of day (or night) to upload, how long the computer should be idle before it does and how many CPU cycles to use if you are on the computer or not. Just set it to do it over night, each night.
Also depends on how good your upstream connection is.

can you save stuff that you want to move off your computer too? or is it just a direct copy? I want to clear up my drive some with an external and save it online too if possible.
- benfal990
you choose all the folders, directories etc. you want to backup. You can backup on the cloud AND on an external HD at the same time.

space is unlimited in the cloud
