I'm curious to know how i would create a weight to this style font. or you think it would be just adding strokes?
- fontogrpaher wont understand strokes, you need to offset path instead. but this can be nastyhans_glib
- making a decent font takes ages. which is why they cost money.hans_glib
- what hans saidmekk
- I would print a grid with each of the glyphs in one weight then retrace adding a thicker line. Rescan so they fall in the same place.orrinward2

If you want something quick and dirty to get you started you could use this: http://www.myscriptfont.com/

I've been using Glyphs Mini to build my fonts. It's only $45 through the App Store, and though it has a couple of bugs, is actually quite nice.
It's a lightweight version of Glyphs, with the biggest differences being no OpenType programming and no multiple master functionality. Still, for starting out you can't go wrong.
- Cool, is it easy to use?
I'm a beginner when it comes to building a proper fontWeLoveNoise - Super easy to use. Shortcuts are pretty similar to Illustrator.skwiotsmith
- Pretty decent with the whole copy/past thing, too.skwiotsmith

FontForge - http://fontforge.org/
it's clunky as crap, and runs through X11 so it feels very un-mac/windows but has full control over all aspects of the font, supports ligatures, glyphs, subpixel kerning, etc.
It's got one killer feature though: it's FREE!!! and open source. Ive made quite a few fonts quickly using it.
