I charge anywhere from $65 to $85 per hour in the US for freelance work depending on the project. How would this translate to British pounds if I was to do freelance work for a London-based design agency? Is it as simple as converting from US $ to British Pounds? I've just arrived in London, btw.
Thanks.

Hi Presta, welcome to London!
Chat to agencies like Source and Aquent and see what they say based on your expertise. But remember they are taking a massive cut, so you can add on 20% or so if you find your own work. Basic junior artworking fetches £20/hr and rates go up from there to god knows what kind of madness they pay rockstars.

Welcome to London too ;)
This may help you, it's a London Salary Benchmarking from a very good recruitment agency around here, for both perm and freelancing jobs.

- How the hell do people get work that pays money like that, it's not 2007. Been eating beans and rice for the last 3 years.mikotondria3

Thanks!
Based on my work, would you classify me as a Mid-Weight Designer or a Senior Designer? We didn't really have titles at the last company I worked for.
- Nice work. Depends on experience. If you have 5 yrs or more then I'd place you as a senior designer.matski
