Anyone have any recommendations for a nice script font that's easy to read at small sizes and doesn't look too cliche?
Client is insisting on a script to pair with a serif typeface.

What serif are you using? Thats rather important...
If you are pairing them both for text, best thing to do is look for a similar x-height
