Will be there on bidness in a couple weeks. I found a thread for this, but it's three years old and things change.
What are the neighborhoods worth meandering? Where's a good place to get my fade on?
How about a good sandwich...so on and so forth.I'll be checking out historical sights too of course.

The National Mall is an unmatched fair-weather public expanse. Great for vistas and central to the (free-of-admission) Smithsonian Museums. (I can opine on monuments a little if you'd like...)
Chinatown is fun for all ages and has vibrant nightlife. If you're feeling adventurous, Adams Morgan is great for blotto brushes with death.
During daylight hours, you can rent canoes/kayaks at the Georgetown waterfront.
