Sorry iPhoto does it... never use that hideous program but will do this for me.

Canon cameras all come with their own raw software. Probably on a cd. Maybe to download.
- Doesn't enable PS to open CR2fadein11
- It processes RAW files and converts them, like you asked for.monospaced
- can do that in iphoto lolfadein11
- and you can do it with their software. lol, you asked, not memonospaced

If iPhoto can open it then maybe Preview can? If preview can then Automator can batch them

Before you do anything, I'd try this first:

adobe DNG converter, free, convert CR2 -> DNG, then you can open it in any version of Photoshop since I think CS2

This is very odd. CS5 has RAW support for the 450 and opens CR2 files just fine.
- funny that - as it isn't working for me. I dont make these stories up and i know how to double click a filefadein11
- I totally understand, that's why it's so odd.monospaced

Mono - chill its sorted via iPhoto - thanks for suggestions. just needed to edit some photos from someone quickly and its sorted.
CS5 PS would not open these CR2 files - so perhaps I got the Canon model number wrong - who knows eh? But its sorted - you can now relax. Thanks.- I was and am relaxed, I was just agreeing that it is very odd.monospaced

I did a bit of googling, and it seems a common cause of CR2 files not opening in ACR/PS is file corruption. Given the age of the 450D (I've got one myself, and use it almost daily), it's not outside the realm of possibility. Another possibility is the SD card losing the plot. I'd try popping in a fresh, new card and see what happens. Replacing the battery if it's old could also help.

just found out it was a 550d... weird.
