iPad aside... No different to showing your work on a website, right?
I'd have no problem looking at people work on an iPad...

I think it'd be kinda silly to show up with a shoebox full of printed examples.
iPad w/ quality photos
Printed - best examples, if relevant to company interviewing you

I use my iPad to give client presentations, and show portfolio samples of print and digital work. If you think its clever to run around with a bag full of actual printed collateral to show a client you're in the minority. The gist is to show your work, not the grain of the paper its printed on.

But is an retina iPad mini enough, or should I go for the full size??

If you would normally show 11x17s, then sticking to that size would seem like a good idea. If you think your work is well off at 10" diagonal then I think it's a good plan. I don't have one, but I've been very curious to try it just once and see how a client/interviewer would handle it.
- 1) good idea
2) good plan
I need to make more sense... yikesismith

Why would it matter if it's on an iPad or in a portfolio? Just show ya werk.

My samples are all package design. All photographs or 3D rendering.
With the iPad I can rotate all 4 panels of the package on screen as opposed to showing just on an angle or flat.Is this too much? Should I just stick to plain and simple traditional 11x17 portfolio pages?

I've gotten a job using just an iPad. Have presentation skills to back it is all.

what if... you take the iPad to show your work, then leave them the iPad as a gift?

If you're a print designer, using an iPad at an interview is lazy. It might be okay, but it might look bad. You can't show it to more than one person.
If you're a web designer, bring an iPad.

People look at print work online all the time - it's called "the present" as apposed to "the past."
why not on an iPad?
The ipad was made to display imagery of all sorts...integrated campaigns - web/print/vid whatever all in one shot.If you're a painter who does large-scale stuff - are you going to carry that $h:+ around?

Mobile apps on a phone, web on an iPad, print on paper. Makes sense to me.

Using responsive design to show your portfolio on the phone IS retarded.
It's all good to me as long as your are using the big ipad....
- MrRemote0
I've used an ipad along with some real printed samples. Went over no problem.

i pads aren't print. what are you, 9?

If someone showed me print work on an iPad, I would think it was because the actual piece is shit.

I have heard from someone that people are using iPads instead of printed portfolio cases. Including to show printed materials.
Does anyone sees this as being the norm now, and what are your thoughts. I remember that using a laptop was never acceptable. Is this changing with the new tablet inclusion?
