and i was exporting both animations from c4d and mixing them with footage from fcp.
it was the animation that fucked it for me

Silly thought, but -
if the audio file is somewhere on your drive that's far from the video/images then you might be using scratch disk rather than everything fitting into ram, so you're gonna have trouble just running it. What I would do, is make a much smaller lower quality, and see what the threshold is for sync, then just up the size and proxy the real fullsize footage in.. Hope any of that makes sense, if not, please recycle this comment.

take a look at Preferences > Audio Hardware if theres anything weird over there.
is this happening in any composition you put that audio? try making a new one by draggin the audio into the "new comp" icon.
try what locustsloth mentioned, rendering it out and seeing if the problem still there.
can't see the fps at your timeline, is your composition with the right settings?
my 2 cents

Only on RAM preview actually.
I'm editing png sequences from C4D that I later converted to mov/ h264, didn't made a difference.

So is it just out of sync in the RAM preview, or is it also out of sync when you render it out to a separate movie file?
Are you using any sort of video footage (what's the nature of the footage you are trying to sync to the audio)?

yes, removed, restarted software, restarted computer then software, flicked a stranger on the forehead twice without explaining why and tapped on the space bar twice then re-render.. can't figure it out, and it's a first one for me :(

Oh boo, sorry - the only audio issue I ever had was mp3s not behaving properly, only lossless worked.
Have you even removed the old mp3 ones from the library ?
Don't give it any excuses.

I'm going crazy, for some reason I can't get the waveform (visual) / audio (sound) to sync up on after effects. I'm editing everything to the audio track (I tried using mp3, wav & aiff, it does not make a difference) and every time I hit render the audio is out of sync.
I watched tutorials on grayscale gorilla on the proper way to use audio in AE but it doesn't mention this particular problem. I even made the comp to 720 instead of 1080 in hopes that will take less processing power, not sure what else to do, anyone has some tips?
