It does feel a little bit, well, square to be on a cool designer thread.
But all the same, I went there with my family. It was awesome. And if you go there, make sure to see the Grand Tetons, just a few minutes away, and take a raft ride down the Snake River.

OK folks, here's the question in the other thread that nobody is replying to:

Anyone been to Yellowstone? Wife and I are thinking about spending a week there this summer, would love to stay in a small cabin, not necessarily a big lodge or camping. After being very fortunate to go to Iceland, Ireland, Italy, and Paris in the last two years, I want to give some US locations a shot. Yellowstone is high on that list, along with Yosemite and maybe Alaska. So anyone been there? Know of any good cabin rentals or best places to stay? Best part of park to be in?
Thanks!

I went there, years ago and it was tremendous. Just do it all (even Ol' Faithful). My faves were the rainbow pools and the Grand Canyon. And Lake Yellowstone. And the moose. And Mammoth Springs. So much to see, so much variety - totally awesome place. Just go out of season to avoid the fucking fat tourists in their fucking ugly winnebagos clogging the place up.
As to places to stay, I was there too long ago to be any use.

leave some time for Mt St Helens - spend some time hiking round there - and marvel at the Power of Mother Earthâ„¢
