Are they worth a damn? Heard them described as emo...but im too old to know what that really means. Sound fairly progressive to me...kind of a rush meets maiden meets mars volta.
Consensus?

There first 3 albums are AWESESOME. I was obsessed in college. They are really great live, too.
There last few havent been as strong.

If you like Rush and Mars Volta you may dig Coheed + Cambria. Or you might find it utterly tasteless. I'm a huge Rush + TMV and can't stand C+C.
But hey... Who knows?

One of the years my band was playing Warped Tour and they were on it. I went to our van to grab something and I saw Claudio had a large platform set up in the field about a metre off of the ground. There was a BBQ in the centre that was smoking away and a single chair. He was sitting in it, although I didn't see him tend to the BBQ. There was nobody else around.
I liked them a lot more, after that.
- I love this story... backstage is often much more interesting at festivals...vaxorcist

i saw them on their first tour at a bar in savannah in front of about 9 people. they were nuts. that first album grabbed me in 01 or whatever it was.
after that they got big and went more into prog rock and though still really talented, not my cup of tea.

seen Coheed a couple times, their cool, they dont hold a candle to Mars volta though which I havent seen live yet, but still listen to almost daily including 20 minutes ago while helping remodel my buddies recording studio, volta so fuckin awesome.
