    1. Stop using the word HTML5. Instead use HTML, CSS and Javascript.

    2. Learn the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript. Personally, I think HTML has become much more cross browser friendly. Back in 1999 I used to do tables and such, and I can tell you now that was a REAL hassle!

    3. Check the basics of jquery (a javascript library), really handy when it comes to selectors and such.

    4. Check out Greenscock's javascript tweening class: https://www.greensock.com/v12/ I can not do without it, also in Flash.

    5. When you really want it like Flash, learn canvas. Really not that hard when coming from an actionscript environment, especially with Grant Skinner's framework: http://www.createjs.com/ Nesting in a 'movieclip' what you're talking about is possible within this framework.

    6. Check the export options in Flash CS6 (spritesheets, SVG graphics). Check this Google animation for example: built completely in Flash and exported to SVG: http://www.google.com//business/…...
