Following up with client?

A long time client asked me to do a small project for them.
I did submitted some options over email, and they have not gotten back to me.
Its been a week and usually they are so prompt.
Am I supposed to reach out to them to see if they like anything? I've worked for them for so long, sending an invoice this early would be rude?

Yes, send them an invoice without speaking to them first.

wow - you've worked with a client for years and you are scared of following up... weird.

It's easy to get get paranoid about stuff like this in my opinion...
I would try to just let it go. They'll get back to you if you've worked with them a lot. There's nothing wrong with sending a follow up email but it probably looks better if they get the idea you're so stacked out with work you haven't given it another thought.
I would chase it after a couple of weeks though...

jesus, just ring them and offer to 'walk' them through the designs, or arrange a coffee. You need feedback, they may be busy, confused or unhappy.

my standard email:
Hi client,
Just checking in to see if you had any thoughts about the options I sent last week.
If you have any questions or comments, just let me know.
Thanks,
