Im building a very large animation in AE, and I want to use multiple compositions for the different sections of the animation just for organizational purpose so I dont have 1000 elements in 1 comp.
I just created a new composition and did some animation in it, and inserted it into the main comp. Problem is when I render it out the elements in the new comp dont animate, they just appear.
What's the deal with that?

Prerendering doesnt work. When I prerender the sub-comp, all it does is remove the sub-comp from the main comp, and it creates a quicktime movie with a black background. That's not going to work at all.
