Gonna take care of the 3 S's, he should be near 90,000 feet by the time I'm done.

One small step for man, one giant leap for RedBull brand awareness.
- GeorgesII0
imagine if the empty capsule crashes on redbull's owner's son's ferrari
engrish?

"The Red Bull Stratos team has maintained all along that this is no mere stunt. It's hoped that the extensive research that went into this mission will benefit future astronauts, and make their missions safer."

according to that latitude and longitude he is at, if he were to fall right now and fall directly to earth he would land in Tosa Bay Japan

Lets not forget the original hero -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos…In which the first attemp of a high altitude jump he nearly died, but still did a further two jumps.
What the red bull dude is doing is v impressive and brave, but kittinger did it not knowing what would happen with 1950's equipment. That takes some massive balls.
His balls were so big that on one jump he noticed "one of the seals around his wrist leaked reducing the pressure in his suit (pressure which keeps the oxygen in his blood from boiling). He said nothing out of fear of the jump being canceled. So his hand swelled to twice its normal size. The swelling resealed the suit, almost certainly saving his life."
Thankfully the red bull dude gives credit to kittinger and kittinger is an advisor and radio man on this jump.
Kittinger holds loads of records.
having the highest, fastest and longest skydive, from a height greater than 31 kilometres (19 mi),[1]
and for being the first man to make a solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a gas balloonSome people also believe he was the first man to break the sound barrier, as the air gets less dense the higher you go, causing free fall speeds to increase, but as far as I know this isn't confirmed.

I think its all to see what how the speed of sound rips apart a human body so that for astronauts they can say dont jump out of a space craft if its buggered.
- robotron3k0
wow why isnt he jumping? 25 miles up.
- you are looking at the kilometers, he's at 27 now, he'll jump at around 37 (23 miles)ernexbcn

They say that gravity has such little effect at those high altitudes, that the only thing that brought Joseph kittinger back down to earth was his gigantic balls.
Fact.
- TheBlueOne0
He bested a 50 year old record by ~12%. That doesn't add knowledge to the human experience, but I bet it will probably sell some Red Bull.
Kinda fucking sad. Maybe if Red Bull help sponsor a trip back to the moon or something I'd be more impressed.
- It was marketing genius at work. Case in point: you said Red Bull in each paragraph.raf

- It's sad. I mean good on Felix, but this isn't a major human accomplishment.TheBlueOne

Watching this at 1080p in rural Ontario, Canada is pretty rad.
