No, they aren't nearly committed enough to be considered on the same level as the Taliban. Ask a Tea Partier to give up anything for their political beliefs and you'd see how devoted they are.
- They give $$$$$ for their beliefs, both church and state.monospaced

The whole Political Theater is dominated by Hegelianism. The Tea Party is bastardization of libertarian movement that was picking up momentum. In an effort to absorb some of the energy or the dissatisfaction of people into a controlled debate. It canned the logical progression of the libertarian movement into some kind idiotic dialogue.

The parties are too easy blame. They are just a product of the current system and people.
I blame the people who don't participate. If everyone voted and stay informed, politics would look very different.

Would it? I think it is a sad, symbiotic relationship that just keeps feeding off each other.
Nut job religious folk get all riled up and run out to support whoever is chiding them on. The politicians see an easy numbers game and go chanting some crap to get the "base" moving (not really the base, though, just easily excited, single minded).
On the other side we get the unions.
Round and round it goes. I am not sure it is as simple as people voting. Until we take the bs off the table, most will vote on a few ideological viewpoints that probably don't really affect the majority of the country/world, not directly or immediately, anyway.

they actually are... right wing extremism is basically domestic terrorism that is far more prevalent than any muslim terrorist incidents.
They don't see, but they have become the anti-american, domestic terrorist bunch.
