So, a client needs some images designed for a 50" plasma screen - how do I work out the pixel dimensions for this to set up the image in Photoshop?

1920x1080 @ 72dpi

Depending on it's age and spec, a 50" could easily also be 1,280×768 or 1,366×768.
Is it newer, true HD 1080p model? If so then 1920x1080 should be right.

You. Dumb. Shits. *facepalm*
It's 1920x1080 at 8dpi. 72dpi is for computer websites. 73 if you really want it to pop. But a 50inch screen needs to have the dpi match the color bit rate, otherwise you get this bad interference and jagged motion. Good luck.
- jagged motion on images - lol... twerpfadein11
