So got a client with a logo that has gradients and a drop shadow and he wants to put this on a black uniform jacket for employees. I'm suggesting we create a simplified version that can be screened or embroidered, but wondering if there are any new fangled processses out there for applying 4 color artwork with effects to clothing. that I should be aware of.
Thanks

have the logo raised off the jacket on little rubber feet to cast a real drop shadow on the jacket

Your embroiderer should have ideas. I had a client who demanded the 3D sheen gradient in their logo be stitched. The guy pulled it off though, he layered varying thread colors in a multi-pass job. As far as a drop shadow on black... what?

screen print it. and there are 4-color printing machines that can apply artwork to just about anything... bags, jackets, &c

My company's logo has a gradient, but we got rid of it when making some embroidered fleeces. (yes yes i know not exactly hot off the catwalk) Even if your embroiderer says he can do it, look at samples. might look godawful. I say keep it simple
