For small print jobs, is the the bleed usually 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch?

Usually dictated by your printer but 3mm is plenty.

Ask your printer. Don't come to QBN for design advice.

1/8 should be just fine for any printer who knows what the fuck they are doing.

I would suggest a proportion of 2 to 1 bleeding to artwork, so no less than 180mm each side and about 100mm top and bottom - that said, it varies a bit from country to country.

1. first you have to get your wrist out.
2. clear the wrist of things. (if you have any)
3. get out one of your sharp business card
4. put the edge at the side of the wrist.
5. now slice.
6. that's your bleed.
