Might be worth putting some safer, boring, more commercial work in there too if you're getting a bit desperate.

    • portfolio not commercial enough?loool
    • Yeah a lot of it's a bit abstract, not every company is Zeitgeist or Universal Everythinganimatedgif

nice people of qbn, I need an advice/info/help/or at least a funny embeded gif...I found myself in a so-so situation:

I am in a foreign country for almost a year, and I don't know anyone who can help me here, I recently graduated and in September I will probably go back home to Serbia...since I am here in Belgium for the next two months anyway (while my visa lasts) I thought it would be perfect to try my luck and find an employment...

so I sat down, assembled a little portfolio of some things that I did before and......I realized
that I don't really have any contacts or companies in Belgium or abroad which I can mail...so I thought that some of you nice people can help me out with some input...I am looking for a full-time work...Country absolutely unimportant, as long as they want to sort out my working permit and speak English (or Serbian) with me...

too much to ask? I am a graduated student, so the experience comes from some freelance gigs and one internship...do you think I have ANY chance of finding work like that:
just by sending enquiry emails with my portfolio, without any personal contacts made before?

I am starting to get a bit nervous, I lived here with my long time girlfriend for a year, we had a great time while we were studying here, and back home is not a good situation: we are not from the same city, so we would need to separate and go live with our parents until someone finds a job(in a country with a 25% unemployment rate and with just a couple of design studios already overcrowded with employees).

so if anyone can help me out with something abovementioned that would be really appreciated...am I fighting windmills for trying to find a full-time job through internet,is it possible at all?
if someone of you has some time and will to take a look at my freshly made portfolio, it can be done here:

I know that I am not the first or the last to whine around here, but whole my life I was one of those who were focused on working and learning, not on networking...and now it seems I am pretty much stuck when all came to that part...living abroad for some time made my existing network even thinner due to not having facebook, and avoiding fake friends...

anyway, I feel a lot better now...just for saying that out loud...and whatever happens, it happens for a reason...
