has anyone paid the $50 to check out this app:

"Sketch is a professional vector graphics app with a beautiful interface and powerful tools.
We set out to build a better app for graphic designers. Not to copy, but rather to improve."

"Sketch is not without its issues and may not be mature enough to replace Photoshop or Fireworks as of the version 1 release; however it's an excellent start and well worth your time to checkout."

It's getting there, definitely would be a breath of fresh air to anyone designing retina display apps.

Pretty rad and I support (eventually) any & all small companies trying to create a new productive piece of software to battle the big boys...

How could a vector program replace Photoshop? That's like saying a calculator could replace Word.

I tried the 1 version, while there was some good points, it really felt like a starting point, and not mature enough.
At the end of the day, you'll have to go back to Illy or PS because it's just not enough yet..

Anyone tried their font management tool Fontcase?

It seems nice & visual; straightforward and functional after years of issues plaguing Suitcase Fusion, I'm in the mood for an alternate...

It's fantastic for UI design — I use it to mimic all my buttons from PSD's and it can spit out the CSS to generate them in a browser. Super handy for functional style guides.

brains, if it's not too much of a bother can you show us what you mean by mimic all your buttons or spit out the css?

He recreates all the photoshop layer styles in Sketch then Sketch can output those to CSS.
Seems a bit of a weird process when Sketch is actually better at the regular layout stuff+multiple pages than Photoshop so you may as well just do the whole thing in that. Only thing it can't do is advanced masking.
