Am I missing something or does GMAIL hide the IP of the sender when they send emails through gmail.com?
When someone uses Yahoo!, I can tell their IP.

I just checked in my gmail (opened in Chrome), and selected 'Show original' in the Reply dropdown button, and it gives you detailed headers in a new window.

ie.
Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of designates 10.224.204.5 as permitted sender) client-ip=10.224.204.5;
Authentication-Results: mr.google.com; spf=pass (google.com: domain of designates 10.224.204.5 as permitted sender) dkim=pass

I think the IP's for gmail send emails are all Google's?

You can only tell the sender's IP if they use something like iMail or another email service.
I think.
I made this post to make sure.

The IPs listed within the headers pasted above are in the 10.x.x.x range so they're a private block within Gmail's mail server systems. If you look at the headers from a private mail server, you can see the IP address of the mail server.
http://aruljohn.com/info/howtofi… says it can show you how to get the sender's IP, but I can't be arsed looking, and I don't think it will work 100% of the time. Good luck.

so there's no way i can track down nigerian prince's ip(gmail)?

any nigerian prince worth his salt will be masking his IP address through a series of botnet hacked Windows machines in malasia and borneo and moldovia and other such places....
