Seeing as QBN is a guide to life and the universe, I wanted to ask about Edinburgh and what to do over a weekend! (is steak still good in Scotland?)
What's on will depend when you are coming.
August is bedlam with the Fringe festival. Book accomodation asap though as the city cells out.
you can re-create one of the best movie openings of last years putting 'lust for life' by the stooges in your ipod and running like hell through the town centre.
Analogue is a good shop
Friut Market is a good gallery, as is Stills and Collect[?]
Café Royal is a good pub if without kids
Amazing Malaysian restaurant
doesn't look anything special but the food is awesome
Saigon Saigon is great chinese food
Analogue IS a great design bookshop.
If you have a car then http://www.rosslynchapel.org.uk/… is worth a visit for it's carvings and stories. (as featured on the davinci code)
If you are going out for a drink then avoid the Grass Market, it's a tourist/kilt wearing rugby fan/stag & hen do trap
Mussel bar is good for, erm, mussels
Calton Hill is worth a look if you like cemeteries
(is steak still good in Scotland?)
— Dunno about Edinboro, but The Butchershop Bar & Grill on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow is pretty damn good.

Go to Edinburgh and get pissed up, go to portobello beach which is about three miles from princes street!!! it's a small beach but fun, the espy pub and the dalriada are nice wee places for a brew on the shore.
