I am looking to set up my drums in a somewhat elaborate fashion to utilize samples.
I want to use drum triggers: (IE)
http://www.drumdial.com/drum_tri…On my bass drum, snare drum, and a tom.
In addition I want one HH foot trigger and one single dual trigger pad (probably Roland).
Right now I have and use Kontakt and Ableton for things like this - I also own an Alesis control pad.
At this point the control pad is dead weight as the trigger area is just too big for what I want.
Is there an easier "Brain" for me to use? One that I would not need a computer for.
I will most likely need custom samples - not just the ones in the machine.
Any help would be amazing!

I don't know if this exists but something like a midi port (with at least 5 inputs for triggers) that could be connected to a computer would eliminate extra modules or sample pads?

I can't offer much help. I play a set of v-drums and I've played acoustic sets with triggers. The inconsistency of the triggers on the acoustic set was really frustrating and made me truly appreciate the v-drums.
- Upon re-reading, "much" = "any".melq
- this all i had to offer as well. a friend incorporated his v drums into his live setalbums
- The potential is there to do great stuff. A friend was telling about a Roland demo where drums, key, guitar...melq
- ...all switched roles mid-song. Would be cool to see done.melq

You could hook up the drum triggers directly to an analog drum machine, like the Vermona DRM1 MKIII, http://vermona.com/index.php/en_…. But I'm not sure what kind of drum sounds you're going for.

See I guess ideally what i am looking for is a sampler with at least 5 trigger inputs that you can also load your own sounds into..
I don't think either of those do that - but these are both cool machines!
Any idea on that?
- You can load samples into the SPDS...but I think it only has two trigger inputs.JackRyan
