it's been 10 years since I was there but walking the wrong direction out of the cannabis cafe I ended up in a sketchy part of town with nothing but junkies walking the streets. They all looked like zombies and It looked like a scene from the Walking Dead.

^ This is one of my favourite Vancouver experiences. You completely get the sensation of being in a real-life zombie apocalypse. Not like those stupid organized "zombie walks."
You have to go at just the right time. There seems to be a magic hour when their numbers peak. Super fun. I think the best I've seen is Fri or Sat night around 10 or 11pm...
- i did a 9pm to 6 am police ride along shift on m&h, went through the back alleys, kitchens, hotels, it was greatprophetone
- the hotel on the north side, forgot name, had a giant picnic table room, there must have been 200 in thereprophetone
- it was intense, yelling screaming laughing, going wild beer bottles flying, it was like a drunk viking raveprophetone

Hit one of the Guu locations (one on Robson and one just off Robson) for the izakaya experience. Or Kitaro, Ben Kei, or Shimamoto(or something like it) Ramen places at Robson and Denman (all 3 are excellent). For an amazing Indian meal... Vij's is tops but high-end. For sushi - hit Tojo's if you are flush.
