I'm making a pdf to print using Indesign.
File size doesn't matter as I'm printing it myself.
For the best quality, should all images be 300DPI at print size? Or does that not matter?
Are placed .jpg's better than placed .psd files?
Any other tips?
Thanks

print it to a postscript file and use Distiller's default pdf output.

file size always matters. why would you wait for your printer to chug through a 40mb file when it could easily be less than 1mb?
- placed jpegs are better than placed .psd's for file size and for the future of working with that file
- yes, 300 dpi for best quality, anything larger is null and your computer will explode in your face.

What about complicated vector graphics vs. 300 dpi jpg's?
Which is better to be printed?

WAIT... you are printing it yourself? why do you need to make a pdf then? Just print it from InDesign.

I'm going to a printer, but any size will fit on my flash drive.

eff, don't listen to the trolls. .ps to Distiller is almost always your best bet. also miraculous file sizes. sweet.

Distiller? Really? hey kota, it's 2012, we have much better PDF exporting now, so nobody has to use Distiller.
