Hello, my name is Rieko, I am a Japanese freelance illustrator based in London.
I have just finished my first portfolio website for illustration, and wanted to ask for a critique:
Thank you!

Show variety.
There isn't much to tell on what you can do.

i'd group all that into 1 project they look so similar

Yea looks like one piece.

Remove the slideshow feature. I want to look at them at my own pace.
I like your color choices.
Do you have anything in application? i.e. in print? on product? framed on wall? Might be nice to see the obviously digital work in a less digital environment. That is, unless you intend to only have your work displayed digitally.

Thank you for your comments! I will work on creating more variety.
@Nicelydrawn: thanks, I have removed the auto play on slideshow. I haven't had a chance to do too much yet as I just started. But I would like to do some print/product work.
I also started to collaborate with my husband who does digital work: http://www.withmoreair.com

Are these yours?

If so, they belong on your site. Mix it up a little.

No that is tom's work but I do different style as well. I will add some of that too. Thank you for your comment :)

I would mock some work up on product if you feel you want to be doing that kind of work. The work is interesting and would translate well to products like fabric, books, children's products, home decor.
I think it would be well worth your time to apply it to some things. Good luck!

lovely work, very detailed. I would advice, more closeups in the overview, also review the clipping and layout in the overview. look at it as 1 piece.

thanks for your comments!
@Nicelydrawn - thanks, yes I will try that!
@uan - are you referring to the thumbnails on the index page? i think i can improve the crops.

I'd love to see a hand lettered logo... the logo you have now seems too classic for the style.

Cool, but what did you do before last week? This is like a week's worth of work.
