Hi guys,
What's the best setting for a quality .pdf that's also really small file size?Do I compress text?

You mean best settings for a PDF that you are going to email?
Obviously it depends on if it is artwork etc. But if it is just a regular doc, to be viewed on screen, maybe printed out for checking text etc then I tend to resample images down to 150DPI and leave everything else alone. Turn on hyperlinks etc if required and save it as a general preset for future docs. Compressing text won't really help with file size - the size will generally be in images.

aka, export "Smallest File Size" (RGB conversion is good for on-screen) and then lower the compression until you're happy with the result in image quality and file size

or once you're in acrobat - preflight and optimize for web view.
