a client wants to duplicate a current website i've designed/developed for them in the past few months with minor changes (content specifically) to suit another division of their company. structure, backend, etc. will all be identical to original site. how do you guys go about charging in this situation?

Personally, here a project like that has a small base rate + time spent.
i.e. $2,500 plus hourly rate for time to completion.

That rate varies depending on scope, type of work etc.

my initial plan was to obviously charge hourly for the amount of time it takes to make the minor content changes and setup the same exact site on another FTP, etc.

i'm just a bit confused on the idea of the client getting two websites for the price of one. should i be factoring some type of flat fee prior to the hourly fee?

    • There should always be a minimum, then the + hourly. Don't be a dick though, it's not much work, is it ? They paid.mikotondria3
    • ..for the initial design costs, all they're asking for is some extra pages in effect. Roll this into doing some other work for them.mikotondria3
    • ie - use it as a sales tool for better-paying work, They're getting a good deal on both jobs then. Value perception.mikotondria3
    • Exactly.. def. not trying to run away with money but just the hourly rate seemed TOO cheap.CQDE
    • Just unsure on how to price that "minimum" before the hourly. A fraction of the original estimate?CQDE
